You’ll provide high-quality engineering support within the areas of fuel route operations and/or plant systems. You will work collaboratively with internal team members, the client, and external contract partners to ensure that all deliverables meet stakeholder expectations and project requirements. This role plays a key part in maintaining operational excellence and ensuring the safe, efficient, and compliant performance of engineering systems.Day-to-day, you’ll&nbsp;take a hands-on approach to technical fault finding and problem-solving across plant systems, using your solid engineering background to identify issues and drive effective solutions. You’ll be actively involved in producing and contributing to high-quality technical reports, documentation, and engineering drawings. This role is ideal for someone who thrives on tackling complex challenges, enjoys working in a dynamic environment, and is motivated to make a tangible impact through their technical expertise.The role<ul type="disc"><li>Identify, implement, and ensure compliance with relevant safety, environmental, and quality standards, as well as company procedures, policies, and site-specific legislative requirements.</li><li>Conduct feasibility studies and site surveys, working closely with station engineering staff to define and scope required works.</li><li>Create and update engineering documentation, including mechanical drawings, quality plans, and installation method statements. You’ll also be responsible for reviewing and approving contractor Work Risk Assessment and Method Statements (WRAMS).</li><li>Provide leadership and supervision to contractors and other working parties, ensuring work is carried out safely, efficiently, and to a high standard.</li><li>Promote a strong Health and Safety culture by leading by example, offering coaching where needed, and developing comprehensive Task Risk Assessments.</li><li>Deliver complete turnkey work packages, including documentation, installation supervision, testing, and final sign-off to the client upon completion.</li></ul>This role is full time, 37 hours per week and is based on site at Heysham 2 Power Station in Morcambe. Flexibility with paid extended working hours (and weekends) will be required to fit in with site process (mainly during installation phases) sometimes at short notice.Essential experience of the Mechanical Engineer<ul><li>Mechanical engineering knowledge/experience within a transferable industry. Electricians Mates

The successful candidate will be required to perform tasks suitable to the internal level of this role. The role will contain, but will not be limited to, the following: Undertake and complete tasked maintenance &amp; diagnostic activities on an aircraft or components which may include, as appropriate, Aircraft Ground Handling, flight servicings, aircraft role changes, AD embodiments, component removals, inspections, repairs, modifications, fault rectifications, replacements and/or functional/system test. Reviews operational performance of aircraft components &amp; systems. Analyse and diagnose faults to components &amp; assemblies, apply diagnostic skills &amp; knowledge to effect repairs or modify equipment or suggest improvements to procedures. Ensure that maintenance is undertaken to schedule and resolve any issues, escalate as required. Demonstrates a flexible and proactive attitude to carrying out responsibilities appropriate to the role and takes direction appropriately. Maintain personal task competencies for working on aircraft or components. Undertake support tasks within the Aircraft or component maintenance facility which are required to maintain compliance with the MOE and Functionally Mandated procedures (e.g. oversight checks, control of tooling / test equipment etc.). Receive On The Job training activities and maintain personal Log Book for currency and recency Requires broad and in-depth product knowledge / competency within own technical / subject area. Awareness of how the team integrates with others in order to achieve the overall objectives of the area and demonstrates an understanding of the requirement for continuous improvement and its application. Ensure personal compliance with the risk assessments, SHE policies and procedures. Undertake specific activities in line with Authorities granted by the Maintenance Manager.Typically 3+ years experience including type, classed as fully competent with all required ‘Authorities’ in place. Demonstrating breadth of systems experience, currency &amp; recency via a Log Book (electronic or paper) capturing skills, knowledge and authorities for working on Aircraft or in workshops. A knowledge of the Functionally Mandated Procedures Requires broad and in-depth product knowledge / competency within own technical / subject area. Awareness of how the team integrates with others in order to achieve the overall objectives of the area and demonstrates an understanding of the requirement for continuous improvement and its application. Academic qualification for this role is a minimum of City &amp; Guilds 2675 or 2661 in Aeronautical Engineering and Maintenance or equivalent. Aircraft platform training (on a/c requirement)WORKING HOURS – ON BASE - 5 days p/wk (Mon-Fri) around relevant site core hours (7.30am – 4.30pm Mon – Thurs, 7.30am – 12pm Fri). - Hours required to work per week are 37.00 unless otherwise stated (this does not include lunch breaks). - Start and finish times to be agreed with local Line Management, in accordance with local site core hours. - Lunch break allowance is 30 minutes between 12.30 – 1:00pm (or as agreed with Line Manager). 30 mins will automatically be deducted each working day by the electronic time management system. - Dependant on workload, local management may request more or less hours are worked within this contract. - Candidates should be aware that this position may involve shift work Nightshift pattern Days: 07:30 till 16:00hrs and Nights: 16:00 to 02:00hrs, this is a 6 month contract initially.
