Job Title: Warehouse &amp; Shop Sales AssistantLocation: Maidstone, Kent Job Type: Full-time, 5 days per weekJob OverviewWe are a well-established swimming pool retailer with both a busy retail shop and a well-established online business, and we are looking for a dependable and enthusiastic Warehouse &amp; Shop Sales Assistant to join our team in Maidstone, Kent.This varied, hands-on role involves supporting day-to-day warehouse operations for online orders while also providing excellent customer service in our retail shop. The ideal candidate will be practical, organised, and comfortable working in both customer-facing and warehouse environments.Key ResponsibilitiesWarehouse &amp; Online Order Fulfilment<ul><li>Picking, packing, and dispatching online orders accurately and efficiently</li><li>Receiving, checking, and booking in deliveries of pool equipment, chemicals, and accessories</li><li>Organising stock within the warehouse to ensure safe and efficient storage</li><li>Carrying out regular stock checks and assisting with inventory control</li><li>Preparing goods for courier collection and customer collections</li><li>Ensuring all warehouse activities comply with health &amp; safety regulations</li></ul>Shop Sales &amp; Customer Support<ul><li>Serving customers in the swimming pool retail shop in a friendly and professional manner</li><li>Providing advice on swimming pool products, accessories, and basic maintenance (training provided)</li><li>Processing sales and payments accurately</li><li>Replenishing shop stock and maintaining clean, well-presented displays</li><li>Handling customer queries, returns, and basic after-sales support</li></ul>General Duties<ul><li>Keeping both the warehouse and shop areas clean, tidy, and organised</li><li>Assisting colleagues as required to support the smooth running of the business</li></ul>Skills &amp; Experience Required<ul><li>Previous warehouse, retail, or trade counter experience preferred (but not essential)</li><li>Good customer service and communication skills</li><li>Physically fit and able to carry out manual handling tasks</li><li>Good attention to detail, particularly when picking and packing online orders</li><li>Basic IT skills for order processing and stock systems</li><li>Ability to work independently and as part of a small team</li><li>Reliable, punctual, and willing to learn</li></ul>Desirable (but not essential)<ul><li>Knowledge of swimming pools, pool maintenance, or water treatment</li><li>Forklift licence</li><li>Experience with e-commerce order fulfilment</li></ul>Working Hours<ul><li>Full-time role</li><li>5 days per week (may include occasional weekend work during busy periods)</li></ul>What We Offer<ul><li>Competitive pay, dependent on experience</li><li>Full training on swimming pool products and systems</li><li>Friendly, supportive working environment</li><li>Opportunity to develop product knowledge in a specialist retail sector</li></ul>Equal OpportunitiesWe are an equal opportunities employer and welcome applications from all suitably qualified candidates – please email <a href="mailto:glan@ukpoolstore.co.uk" target="_blank">glan@ukpoolstore.co.uk</a> – enclose a copy of your CV &amp; any relevant information, including your availability for interviews &amp; ideal start date.&nbsp;
