The role

As a Senior Procurement Specialist, you'll play a key role in delivering procurement excellence across complex engineering and major project environments.

Day-to-day, you’ll be required to:

  • Leading and supporting Procurement Specialists through coaching, mentoring and day-to-day guidance.
  • Developing and implementing procurement strategies and sourcing plans that support project objectives.
  • Managing end-to-end sourcing, tendering and supplier selection activities in line with company procedures.
  • Negotiating contracts and commercial agreements to achieve the best outcomes for projects and the business.
  • Collaborating with project management, engineering, planning and commercial teams to deliver successful project outcomes while managing supplier performance.

You will work 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday based in Warrington, Cheshire. Flexible working patterns are available.

Essential experience of the Senior Procurement Specialist:

  • Significant procurement experience within complex engineering, infrastructure, defence, construction, nuclear or major project environments.
  • Strong knowledge of end-to-end procurement, strategic sourcing and supplier relationship management.
  • Experience managing subcontracts and understanding contract flow-down requirements.
  • Proven ability to draft and negotiate subcontract terms and conditions and lead supplier negotiations.
  • Demonstrable experience working with NEC3 and/or NEC4 contracts, alongside strong commercial awareness and stakeholder management skills.

Qualifications for the Senior Procurement Specialist:

  • Degree qualified or equivalent relevant professional experience.
  • Member of the Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply or working towards Chartered status.
