You’ll play a key part within the Procurement and Supply Chain team focused on a variety of direct and indirect activities.Day-to-day, you’ll:<ul><li>Process requisitions and place purchase orders/contracts efficiently and timely to meet service levels.</li><li>Carry out sourcing and supplier allocation activities in support of business objectives.</li><li>Manage supplier order books to ensure goods/services arrive on time and meet specifications.</li><li>Assist in supplier performance and relationship management to sustain and improve outcomes.</li><li>Coordinate with wider programme teams to ensure project requirements are met to planned time, cost, and specification.</li></ul> This role is full time, 37 hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements with 4 days in the office/onsite and 1 days working from home.Essential experience of the Buyer<ul><li>Knowledge of commercial business practices and strong communication skills.</li><li>Proven experience within a procurement or buying role, preferably in defence, manufacturing or engineering.</li><li>Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint.</li><li>Familiarity with procurement systems such as ERP/MRP technologies.</li><li>Experience working in cross-functional teams and managing stakeholders in an operational environment.</li></ul>We value difference and don’t have a fixed idea when it comes to background or education, provided you can show the required level of experience and/or willingness to learn then we would like to hear from you.Security ClearanceThe successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain UK - BPSS + Non Police Personnel Vetting 1 security clearance for this role.Many of the positions within our company are subject to national security clearance and Trade Control restrictions.
