The Role

The Senior Project Controller (Cost) will contribute to the success of the Dreadnought programme within our Mission Systems division. Day to day, you’ll be supporting the Project Controls Manager in providing project cost control services across the Dreadnought programme.

  • Manage the financial aspects of the project through to completion.
  • Develop and implement effective cost control measures.
  • Conduct cost forecasting, variance analysis, and performance evaluation.
  • Ensure financial alignment with the approved budget.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to develop cost estimates and forecasts.
  • Assess and manage financial impacts of changes in project scope, requirements, or objectives.
  • Identify risks and variances impacting the Estimate to Complete (ETC).

This role is full time, 37 hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements with 2 days onsite and 3 days working from home.

Essential Experience of the Senior Cost Controller

  • Considerable experience in the advanced application of Project Management techniques in a relevant technical project environment across the full project lifecycle. Experience working with senior level managers both internally and externally.
  • Previous experience on complex defence Projects (desirable, but not essential)
  • Ability to champion high performance and inspire others.

Qualifications for the Senior Cost Controller

  • APM Project Management Qualification, Chartered status or equivalent (advantageous).

Security Clearance

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Standard (BPSS) security clearance for this role.
