At Babcock, our purpose is to create a safe and secure world, together. As a Head of Asset Management, you'll play an important role in supporting this mission and contributing to work of national importance at either our Plymouth, Bristol or Clyde sites.
The role
As a Head of Asset Management, you'll lead the development of specialist asset management capability across a complex and evolving defence environment.
Day-to-day, you'll be required to:
- Leading a specialist asset management discipline within a complex defence and engineering environment.
- Influencing major investment and infrastructure decisions that support national security outcomes.
- Driving innovation, transformation and continuous improvement across critical assets and systems.
- Collaborating with senior leaders and stakeholders to shape long-term organisational strategy.
- Developing capability, governance and best practice that delivers lasting business impact.
This role is full time, working 35 hours per week. The role can be based at either our Plymouth, Bristol or Clyde sites. Hybrid working patterns are available, with approximately 2-3 days per week spent in the office or on site.
Essential experience of the Head of Asset Management:
- Significant experience delivering asset management, infrastructure or transformation programmes within large, complex and regulated environments.
- Proven track record of driving measurable business outcomes through successful change, transformation and operational improvement initiatives.
- Strong leadership and stakeholder management capability, with the ability to influence at senior levels.
- Experience operating within complex organisational structures while balancing strategic objectives and operational delivery.
- Knowledge of ISO 55000 asset management principles, ideally gained within defence, nuclear, infrastructure, digital transformation or major capital programme environments.
Qualifications for the Head of Asset Management:
- Degree in Engineering, Asset Management or a related discipline, or demonstrable equivalent experience.

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
