The role
As a Finance Manager, you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping the financial strategy behind our most exciting bids and growth projects across the Land and UK Aviation sectors. This is a dynamic opportunity to lead financial modelling and analysis that directly influences our ability to win new business and deliver innovative solutions in defence, aerospace and engineering.
Day-to-day you’ll be:
- Leading financial modelling and analysis for bids and strategic growth projects.
- Acting as the key finance contact within bid teams, ensuring financial integrity throughout.
- Developing bespoke models for workforce planning, pricing strategies and investment decisions.
- Supporting mergers, acquisitions, budgeting and forecasting activities.
- Ensuring compliance with internal policies and governance throughout the bid lifecycle.
The role is remote, and the set working times are 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday. Travel to customer and Babcock sites across the South will be expected.
Essential experience of the Finance Manager:
- Strong commercial experience in a project-based environment.
- Proven ability to partner with external stakeholders and clients.
- Skilled in data analysis and presenting clear financial insights.
- Experience in financial leadership within bids or strategic projects.
- Advanced Excel modelling skills and proficiency in MS Office.
Qualifications for the Finance Manager:
- Recognised professional qualification (ACA, CIMA, ACCA) with strong post-qualified experience.
Security Clearance
The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
