The role

As a Finance Manager, you’ll be embedded within a high-profile programme - the submarine disposal project -providing dedicated financial support that’s critical to its success. You’ll ensure financial integrity and control across all aspects of the programme, working within Naval Nuclear and Group policies. This is a unique opportunity to influence strategic decisions, drive cost efficiencies and grow your career in a dynamic and meaningful sector.

Day-to-day, you’ll lead financial operations for a major project, delivering accurate reporting and insights, managing budgets and cash flow, guiding team performance and ensuring system integrity through SAP.

  • Delivering financial control, reporting and management information for a major project
  • Analysing performance and presenting financial insights to senior stakeholders
  • Preparing budgets, forecasts, and supporting cash flow planning
  • Leading and developing team members while managing stakeholder relationships
  • Maintaining SAP integrity and publishing performance reports

This role is full time, 35 hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements with 2-3 days in the office/onsite and 2-3 days working from home.

Essential experience of the Finance Manager:

  • Experience in project accounting environments
  • Strong business and process analysis skills
  • Excellent communication and influencing abilities
  • Proven experience working with senior management and customers
  • High computer literacy, including spreadsheets and MIS systems

Qualifications for the Finance Manager:

  • Qualified accountant (ACA, CIMA, ACCA)

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
