The role
As a CNC Machinist, you’ll be at the heart of our precision manufacturing team, producing high-integrity components that support critical defence infrastructure. This is more than just a machining role, it’s a chance to contribute to national security while developing specialist skills in a world-class engineering environment.
Day-to-day, you’ll responsible for manufacturing high precision components to high specifications.
- Interpreting technical drawings to manufacture precision components
- Programming CNC machines for bespoke or complex production tasks
- Operating CNC milling or turning machines
- Setting up machines for optimal performance and tooling readiness
- Conducting quality checks to ensure dimensional accuracy
This role is full time, 35 hours per week and is based on site at Devonport Royal Dockyard.
Essential experience of the CNC Machinist
- Operating CNC turning or milling machines in a precision manufacturing environment
- Working with Siemens and/or Mazak CNC control systems
- Programming and running multi-axis CNC turning centres
Qualifications for the CNC Machinist
- Level 3 qualification in CNC programming, operating and/or machining
Security Clearance
The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
