Supporting our Engineering Fitters, we’ll train you in core engineering skills like hand fitting, health and safety and general maintenance. You’ll also receive specialised training based on the trade route you’re studying. For Mechanical, you’ll learn how to maintain mechanical devices and equipment, as well as repair mechanical components to bring them back into working condition. This is a role where your expertise will directly contribute to operational readiness and national security, while offering you the chance to develop your teaching skills and progress your career in a dynamic environment.&nbsp;Day-to-day you’ll be required to:<ul type="disc"><li>Train and instruct students on current and future armoured fighting vehicles (AFVs) and associated training media and equipment</li><li>Deliver courses covering driving, maintenance, and command of AFVs, ensuring students reach test standard.</li><li>Maintain Student Admin Booklets (SAB) and submit course statistics, reports, and returns as required.</li><li>Liaise with the Authority and Group Management on course content and updates.</li><li>Report faults on Government Furnished Equipment (GFE) and Government Fixtures and Fittings (GFF) used during training.</li></ul>&nbsp;This role is a zero hours contract and is based on site at Bovington.&nbsp;Essential experience of the Defence Trainer:<ul type="disc"><li>Ex-military instructor experience with proven teaching background.</li><li>IT literate with a working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications</li><li>Good written and verbal communication skills</li></ul>&nbsp;Qualifications for the Defence Trainer:<ul type="disc"><li>Must hold an Instructor Qualification from ARMCEN at either Schools Instructor (SI) Level or Regimental Instructor (RI) with a ‘recommend to serve’ at ARMCEN.</li><li>Trained on AFV vehicles – H licence tracked</li></ul>&nbsp;Security Clearance The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.&nbsp;Many of the positions within our company are subject to national security clearance and Trade Control restrictions.
