You’ll play a key role in delivering high-impact analysis that directly influences the performance, safety, and reliability of critical mechanical and fluid systems across both submarine and surface ship platforms.<ul type="disc"><li>Leading the delivery of fluid analysis&nbsp;activities, ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget while maintaining the highest technical standards.</li><li>Authoring and reviewing technical documentation, ensuring the accuracy, clarity, and robustness of all fluid analysis outputs produced by the team.</li><li>Driving continuous improvement&nbsp;by supporting the evolution of fluid analysis methodologies—enhancing both precision and efficiency across a range of applications.</li><li>Advancing cutting-edge techniques, helping the team stay at the forefront of the field by developing capabilities in areas such as compressible and multiphase CFD analysis to meet evolving customer demands.</li><li>Championing knowledge sharing, by developing new analysis methods and delivering both formal and informal training to upskill the wider team and embed best practices.</li></ul>You’ll be part of a collaborative, forward-thinking team that values curiosity, precision, and continuous improvement. Whether you're refining existing models or exploring new simulation techniques, your work will have real-world impact on the systems that keep our naval forces mission-ready.This role is full time, 37 hours per week and provides hybrid/remote working arrangements.Essential Experience of the Senior Fluid Analyst<ul type="disc"><li>Experience in fluid analysis in a high integrity environment</li><li>A good understanding of first principle fluid dynamics.</li><li>A history of working to and improving fluid methodologies.</li><li>Experience using Computational Fluid Dynamics (Babcock use Fluent and CFX), 1D modelling (Babcock use Python, Matlab and AMESim).</li><li>Experience of transient 2D and 3D analysis.</li></ul>Qualifications for the Senior Fluid Analyst<ul type="disc"><li>Mechanical Degree, or HND or HNC in an Engineering Discipline with demonstrable experience and capability.</li></ul>Security ClearanceThe successful candidate must be a sole UK national who is able to achieve and maintain Standard (BPSS) security clearance for this role.
