You’ll be at the heart of one of the UK’s most exciting marine engineering programmes. You’ll shape the electrical strategy for shipbuilding projects, ensuring safe installation and commissioning of electrical systems. This is a dynamic leadership role where your decisions will directly impact the success of our naval programmes and contribute to national defence.Day-to-day you’ll be:<ul><li>Setting production strategies and targets to ensure timely and budget-aligned delivery of electrical work packages</li><li>Taking ownership of quality and schedule delivery across delegated work packages</li><li>Implementing performance indicators and control mechanisms to monitor progress</li><li>Forecasting and managing resource requirements in line with project plans</li><li>Leading and developing your team, including succession planning and talent management</li></ul>This role is full time, 36 hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements.Essential experience of the Ship Electrical Discipline Lead <ul><li>Recent experience in a similar environment, ideally within the marine sector</li><li>Background in electrical trade (advantageous)</li><li>Proficient in ERP systems such as IFS or SAP</li><li>Full lifecycle experience from manufacturing to commissioning</li><li>Strong understanding of project management, controls, and commercial terms</li></ul>Qualifications for the Ship Electrical Discipline Lead<ul><li>ONC in a relevant construction trade or engineering discipline</li><li>Professional qualification in electrical engineering or industrial electrical construction</li><li>Project Management qualifications (desirable)</li></ul>Security ClearanceThe successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.Many of the positions within our company are subject to national security clearance and Trade Control restrictions. You will implement the environmental elements of the Babcock Rail compliance management system, including environmental policies, risk assessments, procedures and guidance notes, and will communicate these to internal and external parties.Day-to-day, You will be responsible for implementing the operational aspects of the companies Sustainability Strategy, focussing activities on the Workplace, Marketplace and Community. Responsibilities include:<ul><li>Provide specialist advice on sustainability and environmental legislative and contractual compliance for the project.</li><li>Manage the project’s Environmental Management Plan, Emergency Response Plan, Environmental Risk Profile and Aspects and Impact register.</li><li>Develop within the environmental management platform a project specific Environment and Sustainability Threats and Opportunities profile.</li><li>Implementing and continuous improvement of the Babcock Rail compliance management system to the ISO 14001 standard for the site.</li></ul>This role is full time, 35 hours per week and is based on site at Cadder Yard, Glasgow.
