We have opportunities for Mechanical Fitter to work on a wide range of projects. You’ll be working on submarines and warships to factory-based engineering projects, you will also work on some of the most advanced mechanical systems in the defence sector. This is a hands-on role where your skills will directly contribute to national security, while offering you the opportunity to grow your career in a dynamic and meaningful environment. What you’ll do:<ul type="disc"><li>Installing and aligning mechanical equipment with precision and care.</li><li>Reading and interpreting engineering drawings and technical specifications.</li><li>Conducting functional tests and surveys to ensure optimal system performance.</li><li>Operating workshop machinery and tools specific to mechanical fitting.</li><li>Troubleshooting mechanical issues and implementing effective solutions.</li></ul>What you’ll need: <ul type="disc"><li>Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and work instructions.</li><li>Experience operating workshop machinery used in mechanical fitting.</li><li>Background in marine engineering, including work on Royal Navy ships, submarines, or large commercial vessels.</li><li>Indentured apprenticeship in a mechanical discipline</li><li>Level 3 Modern Apprenticeship in a mechanical discipline</li><li>Level 3 Mechanical Engineering qualification</li></ul>Security Clearance The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.Many of the positions within our company are subject to national security clearance and Trade Control restrictions.
