You’ll be a key member of our Devonport Engineering Technical Authority team, supporting the Royal Navy’s submarine refit programme. &nbsp;Day-to-day, you’ll deliver engineering support and maintenance documentation for a wide range of assets across our Nuclear Licensed Site, MOD Authorised Site, and Non-Nuclear areas. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to national defence, develop your technical expertise, and grow your career in a highly specialised environment.<ul><li>Producing and amending maintenance documentation for nuclear and non-nuclear assets.</li><li>Interpreting drawings, manuals, and safety reports to ensure compliance with statutory legislation and design standards.</li><li>Delivering documentation aligned with Licence Conditions and nuclear safety cases.</li><li>Working to agreed budgets and timescales.</li><li>Collaborating with internal stakeholders across engineering and safety teams.</li></ul>This role is full time, 35 hours per week and is based on site at Devonport Royal Dockyard.Essential experience of the Maintenance Substantiation Engineer&nbsp;<ul><li>Proven background in mechanical engineering, ideally with maintenance experience.</li><li>Experience in process systems, mechanical handling, or building services.</li><li>Understanding of nuclear safety case substantiation (training provided).</li><li>Willingness to work in radiologically controlled areas, at height, or in confined spaces (training provided).</li></ul>Qualifications for the Maintenance Substantiation Engineer&nbsp;<ul><li>Higher National Certificate (HNC) in a relevant engineering discipline preferred.</li><li>Candidates with strong field experience and willingness to work towards HNC will be considered.</li></ul>Security Clearance The successful candidate must be a sole UK national who is able to achieve and maintain Naval Nuclear Propulsion Information (NNPPI) security clearance for this role.Many of the positions within our company are subject to national security clearance and Trade Control restrictions.
