This is more than just a teaching role — it’s your opportunity to shape the future of military engineering by sharing your technical expertise and passion for vehicles with the next generation of technicians.Day-to-day, you’ll have the following responsibilities:<ul><li>Deliver engaging, hands-on training to military students using modern teaching methods and pre-set course materials.</li><li>Collaborate with colleagues to continuously improve training delivery and outcomes.</li><li>Maintain your own professional development and ensure training content remains current and relevant.</li><li>Monitor and support trainee development, providing feedback and remedial training where needed.</li><li>Prepare lesson plans, training aids, and assessments to support course delivery.</li></ul>You'll be working full-time, Monday to Friday (37 hours per week), based on site at MOD Lyneham, approximately 7 miles (11 km) north-east of Chippenham and 10 miles (16 km) south-west of Swindon.Essential experience of the Vehicle Technician Trainer:<ul><li>Strong workshop experience with diagnostic skills in light vehicles or HGVs.</li><li>Understanding of military vehicles or environments (desirable but not essential).</li><li>Confident communicator with a passion for mentoring and developing others.</li><li>IT literate, with working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.</li><li>Enthusiastic and articulate, with a proactive approach to learning and teaching.</li></ul>Qualifications for the Vehicle Technician Trainer:<ul><li>Minimum NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Vehicle Maintenance or Engineering (e.g., City &amp; Guilds Part 3, Apprenticeship, or military equivalent such as Class 1 REME Vehicle Mechanic).</li><li>Level 4 Certificate in Education and Training (or willingness to achieve this as part of the role).</li></ul>Security ClearanceThe successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) clearance for this role.Many of the positions within our company are subject to national security clearance and Trade Control restrictions.
