If you join us, you can play your part as an Estimator at Devonport, near Plymouth, Devon.The roleAs an Estimator, you’ll be part of a team of dedicated professionals compiling detailed cost estimates to support Submarine Platform Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul projects. This role offers exposure to multiple areas of the business, each with its own challenges and opportunities to apply diverse skills in estimating and project controls.Day-to-day, you’ll compile labour estimates from work specifications, drawings and site visits as well as:<ul><li>Engaging with internal and external stakeholders to ensure estimates meet project needs.</li><li>Ensuring all estimates comply with relevant regulations.</li><li>Supporting Project Managers with timely data analysis to inform decision-making.</li></ul>This role is full time, 35 hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements with&nbsp;2 days in the office/onsite and 3 days working from home.Essential experience of the Estimator:<ul><li>Demonstrable experience in cost estimating, cost and data analysis, and cost assurance.</li><li>Experience interpreting engineering specifications and technical drawings.</li><li>Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite, especially Excel and Teams.</li><li>Experience in marine, maintenance, or defence sectors.</li><li>Strong communication skills and a flexible, proactive approach to learning and development.</li></ul>Qualifications for the Estimator:<ul><li>2 or more A-Levels (or equivalent) in a STEM subject or relevant production/engineering/estimating experience (preferred but not essential).</li><li>APM PFQ or experience working in a project environment (advantageous).</li></ul>Security ClearanceThe successful candidate must be a sole UK national who is able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.Many of the positions within our company are subject to national security clearance and Trade Control restrictions.
