JOB SUMMARY: Drive hands-on product development and project execution in a fast-paced medical device environment. Design, prototype, and improve components, jigs and fixtures to enhance production efficiency and simplicity. Manage small-scale projects from concept to implementation, collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure product safety, quality, and regulatory compliance. RESPONSIBILITIES: <ul> 	<li>Design and develop innovative work aids and components to improve productions productivity and consistency.</li> 	<li>Utilising in house 3D printing, rapid prototype and test concepts, iterating based on performance and user feedback</li> 	<li>Assist with new equipment sourcing and introduction to production through testing and validation, ensuring they meet performance, safety and regulatory requirements.</li> 	<li>Manage small projects or workstreams, including planning, resource coordination, and timeline tracking</li> 	<li>Liaise with suppliers and manufacturers to ensure design-for-manufacture (DFM) and procurement alignment</li> 	<li>Maintain accurate design documentation including 3D models, 2D drawings and drawing register.</li> 	<li>Support root cause analysis and continuous improvement efforts for product issues or manufacturing challenges</li> 	<li>Collaborate with maintenance, production and quality teams to ensure integrated system performance</li> 	<li>Contribute to the development of test rigs, jigs, and other equipment for R&amp;D and production support</li> 	<li>Stay informed of materials, processes, and technologies relevant to the medical device sector</li> </ul> REQUIRED EXPERIENCE: <ul> 	<li>Level 5 in appropriate Engineering/Design</li> 	<li>Minimum 2 years experience Engineering Design</li> 	<li>Knowledge/Skills in CAD modelling, Solidworks or similar</li> 	<li>Problem solving, desire to improve through change</li> 	<li>Flexibility</li> </ul> DESIRABLE EXPERIENCE: <ul> 	<li>Level 6 in appropriate Engineering/Design</li> 	<li>Experience in Pharma or Medical Device</li> 	<li>Knowledge/Skills in Cleanroom Facilities and associated equipment</li> </ul> LOCATION &amp; WORKING PATTERN: Keele office, standard working hours (e.g. Mon-Fri, 9.00 – 5.00, 35hpw) with flexibility.
