If you can bring technical skills and a safe working attitude, then we can provide you with one of the most exciting engineering projects this country has to offer.Day-to-day, you’ll be part of a friendly, supportive team, working alongside other experienced professionals like yourself who are engaged in safely carrying out welding and welding related activities in a production environment supporting the Type 31-unit build - from piece part creation through to panel manufacture and whole ship build.<ul><li>Carrying out welding tasks in accordance with the essential variables and complete visual inspection of finished welds to contract acceptance standards and project requirements</li><li>Maintaining welding plant functionality and carry out daily machine checks, ensuring that any fault is reported immediately.</li><li>Safely setting up and removing any pre-heating equipment.</li><li>Use of digital and thermal temperature recording devices.</li><li>The Welder role covers but not limited to; GSFCAW process, SAW process, Grinding, Pre-Heating, Basic Visual Inspection and Control of welding consumables.</li><li>Please note that the successful candidate will be required to pass a targeted medical questionnaire and/or medical examination as a condition of employment for this role.</li></ul>This role is full time, 36 hours per week, Monday to Thursday and is based on site at our Rosyth, Fife site.&nbsp;Essential experience of the Flux Core Welder<ul><li>Indentured Welder</li><li>An understanding of weld defects and causes</li><li>Perform set up procedures for all welding equipment and accessories to be used on projects.</li><li>Experience with Flux-Cored Arc Welding (FCAW)</li></ul>Qualifications for the Flux Core Welder&nbsp;We value difference and don’t have a fixed idea when it comes to background or education, provided you can show the required level of experience then we would like to hear from you.Security Clearance The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Standard (BPSS) and Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.Many of the positions within our company are subject to national security clearance and Trade Control restrictions. Morson Talent are recruiting for Mechanical fitters to work with our client, providing specialist engineering services on-site at Rosyth dockyard in Scotland.Key AccountabilitiesDay-to-day, you’ll be expected to undertake general Mechanical Fitter activities, including below:<ul><li>Work to engineering drawings and technical specifications</li><li>Remove, overhaul and install a variety of mechanical equipment which could</li><li>Include hydraulics, water and fuel systems and LP/HP air</li><li>Assist commissioning teams with setting to work</li><li>Install and align the overhauled equipment</li><li>Work alongside OEM reps on equipment</li></ul>As well as daily routine maintenance checks, you will be expected to plan and execute operations in a safe and controlled manner on behalf of the company in accordance with the HSE at Work Act and job-specific method statements.
