If you join us, you can play your part as an Assistant Buyer at Rosyth, near Fife.The roleAs an Assistant Buyer, you’ll be at the heart of our procurement operations, supporting the delivery of critical defence and engineering projects. This is a fantastic opportunity to develop your career in a dynamic and purpose-driven environment, where your work directly contributes to national security and innovation.Day-to-day, you’ll have the following responsibilities:<ul><li>Executing the requisition to order process within agreed service levels, up to a value of £2m</li><li>Supporting Buyers to protect Babcock’s commercial position through agreed terms and conditions</li><li>Managing order books and expediting processes to ensure timely delivery across the supply chain</li><li>Assisting with supplier onboarding and qualification to ensure compliance and readiness</li><li>Collaborating with finance teams to ensure on-time payment to suppliers.</li></ul>This role is full time and provides hybrid working arrangements with 3 days in the office/onsite and 2 days working from home.Essential experience of the Assistant Buyer:<ul><li>Basic knowledge of operational procurement techniques</li><li>Familiarity with ERP systems such as IFS, SAP, or Oracle.</li></ul>Qualifications for the Assistant Buyer:<ul><li>Qualified to NQ level or equivalent through work experience</li><li>Willingness to study towards MCIPS or equivalent professional qualifications</li></ul>Security ClearanceThe successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Standard (BPSS) security clearance for this role.Many of the positions within our company are subject to national security clearance and Trade Control restrictions.
