You’ll provide high-quality engineering support within the areas of fuel route operations and/or plant systems. You will work collaboratively with internal team members, the client, and external contract partners to ensure that all deliverables meet stakeholder expectations and project requirements. This role plays a key part in maintaining operational excellence and ensuring the safe, efficient, and compliant performance of engineering systems.Day-to-day, you’ll&nbsp;take a hands-on approach to technical fault finding and problem-solving across plant systems, using your solid engineering background to identify issues and drive effective solutions. You’ll be actively involved in producing and contributing to high-quality technical reports, documentation, and engineering drawings. This role is ideal for someone who thrives on tackling complex challenges, enjoys working in a dynamic environment, and is motivated to make a tangible impact through their technical expertise.The role<ul type="disc"><li>Identify, implement, and ensure compliance with relevant safety, environmental, and quality standards, as well as company procedures, policies, and site-specific legislative requirements.</li><li>Conduct feasibility studies and site surveys, working closely with station engineering staff to define and scope required works.</li><li>Create and update engineering documentation, including mechanical drawings, quality plans, and installation method statements. You’ll also be responsible for reviewing and approving contractor Work Risk Assessment and Method Statements (WRAMS).</li><li>Provide leadership and supervision to contractors and other working parties, ensuring work is carried out safely, efficiently, and to a high standard.</li><li>Promote a strong Health and Safety culture by leading by example, offering coaching where needed, and developing comprehensive Task Risk Assessments.</li><li>Deliver complete turnkey work packages, including documentation, installation supervision, testing, and final sign-off to the client upon completion.</li></ul>This role is full time, 37 hours per week and is based on site at Heysham 2 Power Station in Morcambe. Flexibility with paid extended working hours (and weekends) will be required to fit in with site process (mainly during installation phases) sometimes at short notice.Essential experience of the Mechanical Engineer<ul><li>Mechanical engineering knowledge/experience within a transferable industry. Morson Talent are recruiting for Mechanical fitters to work with our client, providing specialist engineering services on-site at Rosyth dockyard in Scotland.Key AccountabilitiesDay-to-day, you’ll be expected to undertake general Mechanical Fitter activities, including below:<ul><li>Work to engineering drawings and technical specifications</li><li>Remove, overhaul and install a variety of mechanical equipment which could</li><li>Include hydraulics, water and fuel systems and LP/HP air</li><li>Assist commissioning teams with setting to work</li><li>Install and align the overhauled equipment</li><li>Work alongside OEM reps on equipment</li></ul>As well as daily routine maintenance checks, you will be expected to plan and execute operations in a safe and controlled manner on behalf of the company in accordance with the HSE at Work Act and job-specific method statements.
