Day-to-day, you’ll will be responsible for planning, creating and managing tenders from initiation through completion in order to determine required resources and use formal processes and tools to create resources, budgets, risks and changes.<ul><li>Generating the cost and other resources needed to complete a tender within a defined scope, by considering all activities and elements required for a tender and calculating a total amount to determine a tender’s price</li><li>Compile estimates, in line with best practice, by assessing the materials, labour and equipment that will be required based on a variety of historical and current information sources.</li><li>Working alongside the planning, finance, risk and procurement teams, to name a few, to successfully compile the required commercial return. Coordinating and managing new bid proposals through the Babcock Gated process, ensuring compliance with all relevant procedures and guidelines.Day-to-day, you’ll provide strategic commercial expertise to support the efficient and timely submission of proposals, meeting quality standards and contractual requirements.<ul><li>Oversee Contract management activities, ensuring deliverables are achieved in line with milestones set and supporting the team with risk identification and mitigation.</li></ul><ul><li>Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including project managers and stakeholders, to align commercial strategies with overall project objectives.</li></ul>This role is full time, 37 hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements. Occasional on-site attendance during the initial period will be required.Essential experience of the Commercial Specialist:<ul><li>Experience of contract management including diligent document control, reporting and drafting</li><li>Previous commercial and contract management experience, ideally within the Defence Industry</li><li>Commercial and business awareness</li><li>Previous practical experience in developing proposals</li><li>Demonstrable ability to successfully support and conduct negotiations with third parties, (both internal and external stakeholders)</li><li>Proven adaptability to evolving project scopes and dynamic environments</li></ul>Qualifications for the Commercial Specialist:<ul><li>We value difference and don’t have a fixed idea when it comes to background or education, provided you can show the required level of experience and/or willingness to learn then we would like to hear from you.</li></ul>Security ClearanceThe successful candidate must be a sole UK national who is able to achieve and maintain Standard (BPSS) / &nbsp;Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.Many of the positions within our company are subject to national security clearance and Trade Control restrictions.
