OUTSIDE IR35In this full time permanent position, you will, acing as a Senior Mechanical Engineer in the London office, predominantly focus on delivering UK Government Defence Projects.This role will make a difference to our business and team in the &nbsp;following ways:Responsibly of the delivery of engineering services from design through to construction. Project Leader responsible for the delivery of medium and large sized single and multi-disciplinary projects.This role primarily works independently applying deep technical knowledge and skills on large/complex projects. As required, creates submissions and presentations that effectively markets NDY and accurately addresses the client’s perspective.&nbsp;Accountabilities&nbsp;&nbsp;− &nbsp; Design and document systems through concept, design development and detailed documentation phases.&nbsp;−&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Act as Project Leader on assigned projects, which may require the nomination of project engineers and reviewers for projects where appropriate.&nbsp;Plan and resource projects to ensure all NDY activities and designs are fully coordinated and implemented in line with NDY’s Project Management methodology.&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;<ul><li>Assist the Project Leader on assigned projects – responsible for the firm’s overall involvement on the project and the administration of design interface between multiple disciplines.</li><li>Demonstrate ability to effectively communicate with staff at all levels including a proven ability to communicate with technical staff across multiple disciplines.</li><li>Demonstrate ability to effectively communicate with clients.</li><li>Have highly developed verbal communication skills.</li><li>Excellent interpersonal skills.</li><li>The ability to exercise substantial initiative and high level judgement and to work independently to meet objectives.</li><li>Well developed problem solving skills.</li><li>Demonstrate an appropriate level of technical competence.</li></ul>You will be expected to &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<ul><li>Support our brand in the market by providing superior client service and promoting our interests and reputation&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; </li><li>Play an active role in ensuring a harmonious, safe and productive work environment for yourself and others in the workplace by maintaining a high standard of performance and conduct in accordance with company Values, Code of Conduct, policies and procedures and reasonable business directives.&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp; </li><li>Act as the project leader for internal multi-disciplinary engineering project teams, predominantly for London based commercial office projects&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; </li><li>Represent the company at external project meetings with the client and external design teams&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; </li><li>Mechanical building services engineering consultancy and design for large scale projects up to RIBA Stage 4A&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; </li><li>Co-ordinate mechanical services designs with other building services disciplines and with external parties including architects and structural engineers&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; </li><li>Project management including resourcing and managing project finances&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; </li><li>Manage multiple projects and successfully dealing with conflicting obligations&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; </li><li>Ensure that the Quality System is implemented and maintained on projects&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; </li><li>Develop Project Leader skills in line with work opportunities&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; </li><li>Participate in developing the Mechanical team technical capability&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; </li><li>Take part in personal and professional development training as required&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;</li><li>Assist in developing technical capability of more junior Mechanical Engineers&nbsp; Qualifications &amp; Certifications&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;</li><li>A minimum of 5 years (ideally 8-10) engineering experience in the field of mechanical building services design&nbsp;</li><li>A recognised mechanical engineering qualification&nbsp; Skills &amp; Experience: &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;</li><li>Previous project leader/project management experience with multi-disciplinary project teams, including managing project resources and project finances&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; </li><li>Experience designing commercial office buildings.&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; </li><li>Highly effective communication skills, both written and verbal&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; </li><li>Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to effectively communicate with staff at all levels as well as with different technical backgrounds&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; </li><li>The ability to exercise substantial initiative and high-level judgement and to work autonomously to meet objectives&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; </li><li>Familiarity with the full range of RIBA design stages, from Stage 1 right through to Stage 4A tender design&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; </li><li>A working level understanding of other engineering disciplines including electrical, public health and fire protection is highly desirable&nbsp; &nbsp;</li></ul>
