You’ll be at the heart of maintaining and enhancing the operational readiness of submarines and surface ships. This is a hands-on role where your expertise in fabrication will directly contribute to national defence and maritime safety. You’ll be part of a team that thrives on precision, collaboration, and innovation - making a real impact on the UK’s naval capabilities while growing your own career in a dynamic and rewarding environment.&nbsp;Day-to-day you’ll be:&nbsp;<ul><li>Performing light to heavy fabrication and structural activities to support maintenance and refit operations</li><li>Interpreting engineering drawings, plans, and standards to manufacture or repair systems</li><li>Investigating faults and determining effective repair methods</li><li>Completing Engineering Support work packages to ensure operational availability</li><li>Working within health and safety legislation and contributing to process improvements</li></ul>&nbsp;This role is full time, 36 hours per week Monday to Thursday, 07:15 to 16:45 and is based on site at HMNB Clyde Faslane.&nbsp;&nbsp;Essential experience of the Engineering Support Fabricator<ul><li>Skilled in light and medium fabrication, including burning, welding, and drilling</li><li>Competent in using power tools and workshop machinery</li><li>Comfortable working at heights, in confined spaces, and over water</li><li>Familiar with technical instructions and acceptance standards</li><li>Experienced in maintenance procedures, risk assessments, and Safe Systems of Work</li></ul>&nbsp;Qualifications for the Engineering Support Fabricator<ul><li>Recognised Welding/Fabrication/Plater Apprenticeship qualified to SVQ Level 3 (or NVQ and City &amp; Guilds equivalent)</li><li>HNC or above in a relevant discipline with industry experience (preferred)</li></ul>&nbsp;Security ClearanceThe successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.&nbsp;Many of the positions within our company are subject to national security clearance and Trade Control restrictions.
