You'll have a key role working within a small but highly effective Transport Services team, where the highest standards will be expected. You'll be required to drive and operate a wide range of general and specialist vehicles, from Passenger Carrying Vehicles (PCV, which include cars, minibuses and coaches), to both rigid and articulated Large Goods Vehicles (LGV). You'll be responsible for making sure RAF personnel, equipment and vehicles get to the right place, at the right time!Day-to-day you’ll be responsible for:<ul><li>Loading/unloading and restraint of loads.</li><li>Driving passenger carrying vehicles with up to 53 passengers</li><li>Ensure full and complete Daily inspections are carried out when tasked or required. Any faults found are to be reported promptly to MT Control personnel using the correct documentation.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;</li><li>During snow and ice season, employees may be requested to work extended hours and operate the snow and ice vehicles.</li><li>Complete when required Airfield Sweeping duties in line with the RAF Cranwell Sweeping plan.</li></ul>This role is full time and based onsite at RAF Cranwell and RAF Digby. This role includes travelling across the UK, and the candidate may need to stay overnight with all expenses covered.Essential experience of the Driver<ul><li>Familiar with Vehicle inspections&nbsp;</li><li>Previous driving experience in Mechanical Transport and Logistics environment.</li><li>Experience with Driving hours and Tachographs.</li><li>Some form of previous leadership experience (can be non-work related)</li></ul>Qualifications for the Driver:<ul><li>Clean driving Licence Cat B.</li><li>Must be able to pass a colour perception test.</li><li>D (essential).</li><li>DCPC (essential).</li></ul> Security ClearanceThe successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain SC security clearance for this role.Many of the positions within our company are subject to national security clearance and Trade Control restrictions.
