The role

As a Vehicle Technician Supervisor, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. You will be keeping mission-critical vehicles safe, reliable, and ready to support the RAF in delivering essential operations for the Armed Forces.

Day-to-day, you’ll have the following responsibilities:

  • Play a key role in the MTMS team, ensuring smooth delivery of scheduled servicing and maintenance tasks
  • Adhere to engineering principles, procedures, and health & safety standards during all maintenance activities
  • Perform effective maintenance and fault rectification on all Green Fleet and airfield specialist vehicles and equipment, following military and Babcock engineering policies
  • Accurately record all maintenance activities, including modifications, technical instructions, and initiate equipment failure reports and warranty claims with the Senior Supervisor
  • Manage spare parts requirements in line with military logistics policies
  • Participate in the on-call technician roster, ensuring out-of-hours coverage for vehicle maintenance.

This role is full time working 37.5 hours per week and is based on site at RAF Northolt, Ruislip, West London.

Essential experience of the Vehicle Technician Supervisor:

  • Proficient in using diagnostic equipment with a solid understanding of diagnostic processes
  • Proven supervisory experience, with the ability to lead and support a team effectively.

Qualifications for the Vehicle Technician Supervisor:

  • Level 3 Diploma in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance and Repair Principles or equivalent experience as an HGV/LGV Vehicle Technician
  • Training in DC electrical systems, with practical knowledge of electrical diagnostics and repairs.
  • Full, clean driving licence (Categories B and C.)

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
