The role
As a Vehicle Mechanic, you’ll be part of a team that keeps vital military vehicles mission ready. From diagnostics to repairs, your expertise will ensure our fleet operates safely and efficiently. This is more than just a maintenance role – it’s a chance to contribute to national defence and develop your career in a dynamic, hands-on environment.
Day-to-day you’ll be:
• Diagnosing, inspecting and assessing vehicles and associated mechanical or electrical equipment
• Completing servicing, repairs, maintenance and overhauls to required standards
• Using stores and equipment correctly and returning unused or faulty materials promptly
• Creating job cards and requesting materials via ERP (SAP) systems
• Completing documentation and test certificates to current standards
Please note that the successful candidate will be required to pass a targeted medical questionnaire and/or medical examination as a condition of employment for this role.
Please note that this position involves manual work. This could include lifting, bending, using tools or standing for extended periods of time.
The role is based onsite at Warminster, and the set working times are Monday to Friday, totalling 37 hours per week.
Essential experience of the Vehicle Mechanic:
• Previous experience in a similar role
• Hydraulics experience
• Experience in a dealership or local garage setting
• Strong team player with adaptability and rapport-building skills
Qualifications for the Vehicle Mechanic:
• NVQ Level 3 in Service and Repair
Security Clearance
The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
