Day-to-day, you'll:

  • Diagnose, service, repair and maintain military and civilian vehicles
  • Conduct inspections and assess vehicle condition and performance
  • Carry out mechanical, electrical and hydraulic fault-finding activities
  • Complete testing, road testing and vehicle certification documentation
  • Ensure all work is completed safely, efficiently and to required standards

No two days are the same. You'll work on a diverse range of vehicles while developing specialist skills and gaining experience rarely found elsewhere in the automotive industry.

What You'll Need

To be successful in this role, you'll ideally hold one of the following:

  • NVQ Level 3 in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair
  • City & Guilds Level 3 in Motor Vehicle Technology
  • BTEC Level 3 in Motor Vehicle Technology
  • Class 1 REME Vehicle Mechanic qualification

You will also have:

  • Previous experience as a Vehicle Mechanic, Automotive Technician or Mechanical Technician
  • Experience diagnosing, inspecting and assessing vehicle faults
  • Knowledge of vehicle maintenance, servicing and repair practices
  • The ability to complete vehicle documentation and test certification accurately

Experience gained within dealerships, commercial vehicle workshops, local garages, fleet maintenance environments, military vehicle maintenance or Armed Forces engineering backgrounds is highly desirable.

Security Clearance
The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
