The role

This is a unique opportunity to influence strategic procurement decisions across a large and complex organisation. As a Strategic Sourcing Specialist, you will play a key role in developing sourcing strategies, delivering commercial value, and strengthening supplier partnerships that support both current operations and future growth.

Working across the Land Sector, you will collaborate with a wide range of internal stakeholders and suppliers to identify opportunities, improve supply chain performance, and contribute to major contract opportunities. This is a highly visible role that combines strategic thinking with hands-on procurement delivery, giving you the chance to make a real impact while developing your career within a leading international organisation.

Day-to-day, you will be:

  • Developing and delivering strategic sourcing plans that support business objectives and future growth
  • Managing supplier selection processes, tendering activities, negotiations, and contract awards
  • Building strong relationships with suppliers and stakeholders across multiple business areas
  • Monitoring supplier performance against agreed service levels and key performance indicators
  • Producing procurement reports and presenting sourcing recommendations to senior stakeholders.

This role is based at Donnington, Portsmouth or Andover, with hybrid working available and an expectation of 1 to 2 days per week on site, depending on business requirements. The role is a fixed term contract for 12 months, working full-time, 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday.

Essential experience of the Strategic Sourcing Specialist:

  • End-to-end procurement experience within a complex organisation
  • Proven experience of strategic sourcing and category management activities
  • Experience of supplier relationship management and performance improvement
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and influencing skills
  • Experience delivering procurement projects and commercial outcomes.

Qualifications for the Strategic Sourcing Specialist:

CIPS or MCIPS qualification, or working towards certification, would be advantageous.

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
