The role
As a Service Support Desk Receptionist, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. You’ll be at the heart of our operations at the Royal School of Military Engineering (RSME), providing a professional and friendly first point of contact for all visitors and staff. This is a dynamic role where you’ll contribute to the smooth running of our IT Service Desk and support services, helping ensure our site remains secure, efficient, and welcoming.
Day-to-day, you’ll be:
- Greeting and assisting visitors while performing essential security checks
- Handling incoming calls and service requests within a busy Service Desk environment
- Managing Motor Transport and Accommodation bookings
- Issuing personal security and car parking passes
- Supporting the wider Service Support Desk team with administrative tasks
This role is full time, 37.5 hours per week and is based on site.
Essential experience of the Service Support Desk Receptionist:
- Working in a reception, service desk or security environment
- Using call logging systems
- Delivering excellent customer service
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Qualifications for the Service Support Desk Receptionist:

Security Clearance
The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Standard (BPSS) / Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
