The Role

As a Senior Systems Integration Engineer, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. This role offers a unique opportunity to work on cutting-edge defence technologies within a high-impact, fast-paced environment supporting strategic transformation and capability development across multiple high-profile programmes.

As the Senior Systems Integration Engineer, you will work collaboratively in a team of multi discipline engineers, subject matter experts and directly with the customer. Your role will be to develop creative solutions for our current and future clients. You will use your knowledge to support the creation of innovative solutions through the design, build, integration, and acceptance phases, arriving at a solution or product that meets customer needs.

  • Translating Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) information into system and platform integration/installation designs. Creation of high-quality documentation including O&M manuals, safety cases, CE/UKCA tech packs.
  • Developing Equipment Guidance Packages (EGP), Installation Guidance Packages (IGP), and Installation Solutions (IS) in accordance with MoD design authority processes, whilst supporting installation teams and design authorities with integration-related technical queries.
  • Ensuring compliance with platform safety, ergonomics, Human Factors Integration (HFI), security standards, and environmental constraints (e.g., shock, vibration, temperature). Integrate COTS equipment into military systems, ensuring EMC/TEMPEST compliance, electrical power design, and spatial/maintenance envelope considerations.
  • Coordinating and technically reviewing design deliverables from internal/external teams, whilst maintaining configuration control and traceability between installation and system designs, support platform variant management and design authority acceptance.
  • Providing support to the installation team to ensure efficient project deliveries.

This role is full time, 37 hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements with 4 days onsite and 1 day working from home.

Essential Experience of the Senior Systems Integration Engineer

  • A confident and effective communicator with strong demonstrable negotiation skills with the ability to simplify complex problems
  • Demonstrate the ability to work across multiple projects and business initiatives, delivering timely outcomes.
  • Proven experience as an instinctive organiser with meticulous attention to detail, who can motivate others to meet objectives.

Qualifications for the Senior Systems Integration Engineer

  • A minimum Level 4 (HNC) qualification in a relevant engineering discipline is expected or equivalent experience.

The successful candidate must be a sole UK national who is able to achieve and maintain Developed Vetting (DV) security clearance for this role.
