The role

As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you’ll play a pivotal role in delivering commercial excellence across major engineering, infrastructure and defence programmes. Working within a highly skilled team, you'll provide commercial leadership, manage risk, drive value, and support the successful delivery of complex projects that contribute to the UK's national security and critical infrastructure.

  • Providing commercial management and guidance across projects and contracts to maximise value and performance.
  • Supporting project teams with commercial activities including contract administration, change management, compensation events and governance reviews.
  • Managing commercial risk and ensuring contractual compliance throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Developing strong relationships with customers, suppliers and internal stakeholders to align objectives and deliver successful outcomes.
  • Leading post-contract commercial management activities, including subcontract administration, payment certification and final account settlements.

This role is full-time 37 hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements with 3 days in the office/onsite.

Essential experience of the Senior Quantity Surveyor

  • Significant experience in a Quantity Surveying role within engineering, construction, infrastructure or major project environments.
  • Strong commercial management experience across large, complex contracts and project delivery programmes.
  • Demonstrable experience managing multiple projects and engaging effectively with senior stakeholders.
  • Detailed knowledge of commercial administration and contract management within engineering and construction sectors.
  • Excellent NEC3 contract management experience.

Qualifications for the Senior Quantity Surveyor

Essential

  • Degree qualified (or equivalent) in Quantity Surveying or Building Services Quantity Surveying.

Desirable

  • Professional membership or working towards chartered status would be advantageous.
  • Additional commercial or contract management qualifications would be beneficial.

The successful candidate must be a sole UK National who is able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
