The role

As a Senior Detail Planner, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. You'll take a leading role in turning complex engineering and operational requirements into detailed, workable plans that drive successful project delivery. Working within our Marine business, you'll help ensure critical defence and engineering programmes are delivered safely, efficiently and on schedule.

Day-to-day, you’ll be required to:

  • Leading the creation and maintenance of detailed Level 4 and Level 5 schedules aligned to programme objectives.
  • Managing rolling short and medium-term planning activities, ensuring plans remain achievable and delivery focused.
  • Monitoring work in progress, analysing performance against key metrics and reporting risks, issues and delays.
  • Coordinating material requirements, budgets, documentation and resources to support project delivery teams.
  • Planning emergent and additional work activities to ensure they are integrated effectively into programme schedules.

This role is full time, 36 hours per week Monday to Thursday and is based on site at Rosyth. Overtime opportunities are available on Fridays and Sundays where required.

Essential experience of the Senior Detail Planner

  • Demonstrable experience in planning, project controls or operations planning within a complex engineering, construction, manufacturing or defence environment.
  • Experience leading teams and coordinating activities across multiple stakeholders.
  • Strong understanding of production engineering principles and delivery processes.
  • Working knowledge of enterprise resource planning systems such as SAP, IFS or equivalent platforms.
  • Experience in estimating, forecasting and resource planning.

Qualifications for the Senior Detail Planner

  • Ordinary National Certificate in a relevant construction trade, engineering discipline, or equivalent engineering qualification.
  • Professional qualification such as Association for Project Management, Association of Cost Engineers, Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors, or equivalent is desirable

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
