The role

As a Senior Cost Controller, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. You’ll enhance project performance and stability through the collection, analysis, and reporting of meaningful cost information, enabling informed decision-making at program and project levels. This is your chance to make a real impact on national security while advancing your career in a dynamic and innovative environment.

Day-to-day, you’ll oversee cost performance baselines, manage changes, deliver accurate monthly reports, analyse data to drive decisions, and coordinate forecasts across the project.

  • Managing actuals against multiple cost performance baselines
  • Managing change across performance baselines
  • Producing internal and external monthly reporting
  • Conducting data analysis and providing recommendations
  • Coordinating forecasts from activity owners

This role is full time, 35 hours per week and is based on site at Devonport Royal Dockyard

Essential experience of the Senior Cost Controller

  • Experience in a cost control or cost management environment
  • Understanding of project controls, including cost control, earned value, finance, scheduling, or estimating
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
  • Data analysis experience with proficiency in Excel
  • Personal effectiveness and drive

Qualifications for the Senior Cost Controller

  • Degree-level education or APMP qualification (or equivalent experience)
  • Experience with cost management systems (e.g. Cobra, Ecosys)

Security Clearance

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Standard (BPSS) / Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
