The role

As a Security Administrator you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. You’ll be at the heart of our site security operations, working in a high-profile role that offers strong career progression and the opportunity to collaborate across all levels of the organisation, including senior leadership. You will be part of a large, stable organisation delivering impactful, long-term projects that make a real difference to the nation’s defence.

Day-to-day, you’ll manage vetting workflows, visitor protocols and information governance, giving you a hands-on impact with stakeholders across the business whilst growing your career in a purpose driven environment.

  • Manage security vetting and background‑check processes, liaising with the United Kingdom Security Vetting portal to confirm clearances.
  • Administer visitor management and deliver site security inductions in Bristol.
  • Maintain accurate electronic filing and team systems (e.g., SharePoint/GMS), auditing data to ensure integrity.
  • Coordinate team mailboxes, track actions and provide high‑quality administrative support to the Security Controller and wider team.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders at all levels to keep policies, records and processes up to date.

This role is full time, 35 hours per week and based at our Babcock Technology Centre, Bristol. Hybrid working patterns are available with at least two days working onsite.

Essential experience of the Security Administrator:

  • Demonstrates strong administrational skills within a fast paced, process driven environment
  • Strong communication skills and ability to deliver exceptional customer service
  • Skilled in time management and effective workload organisation
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and confident managing shared mailboxes and basic data analysis.
  • Flexible, adaptable and a collaborative team player.

Qualifications for the Security Administrator:

  • Essential: English GCSE (C or above) or NVQ in Business Administration.

Security Clearance

The successful candidate must be a sole UK National who is able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
