As a Safety Data and Continuous Improvement Analyst, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. You’ll play a vital role in supporting a major refit programme at Devonport Royal Dockyard - one of the most strategically important maritime sites in Europe. This is an exciting opportunity to use your analytical skills to influence safer behaviours, smarter decisions and continuous improvement across a complex, high‑risk engineering environment.
Day-to-day, you’ll be required to:
- Collect and analyse safety, quality and operational data from systems such as Synergy, inspections, incident reports and near‑miss logs
- Identify trends and root causes to support proactive risk management and Lessons From Experience
- Develop and maintain structured data sets and insight dashboards that enable evidence‑based decision‑making
- Turn insight into action, producing practical recommendations that improve processes, behaviour and systems
- Present findings clearly to senior stakeholders, project teams and operational leaders
This is a full‑time role, working 37 hours per week, primarily based onsite at Devonport Royal Dockyard, Plymouth, Devon. Set working times are Monday to Thursday 7:30am-3:30pm and Friday 7:00am-12:00pm. You will work a minimum of three days a week onsite.
Essential experience of the Safety Data and Continuous Improvement Analyst:
- Experience working in a safety, quality or data‑driven role within an engineering, construction or high‑risk environment
- Proven ability to interpret complex datasets and communicate insight clearly and confidently Strong analytical mindset with attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a dynamic project environment
- A passion for driving continuous improvement through data‑led insight
Qualifications for the Safety Data and Continuous Improvement Analyst:
- Strong analytical capability with experience using Excel, Power BI or similar data tools
- Familiarity with incident, inspection or assurance management systems such as Synergy (or equivalent)
- Knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies such as Lean or Six Sigma is advantageous
Security Clearance
The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Standard (BPSS) security clearance for this role.
