Safety and Environmental Engineering Undergraduate Summer Internship
Programme title: Safety and Environmental Engineering Undergraduate Summer Internship
Location: Babcock Technology Centre, Bristol
Application closing date: 16 October 2025
Start date: June 2026
Role ID: 66859
What you’ll be doing
Join us for a 12-week internship as part of our Safety and Environmental Engineering team at the Babcock Technology Centre in Bristol. You’ll contribute to projects that help ensure our operations are safe and environmentally responsible, with a particular focus on supporting activities at HM Naval Base Devonport.
Your work may include conducting risk assessments, evaluating environmental impacts, and assisting in the development of safety cases. These efforts play a vital role in maintaining the safety and sustainability of engineering operations that support the Royal Navy’s fleet, including submarines and surface ships.
Throughout the internship, you’ll collaborate with experienced engineers and technical specialists, gaining exposure to a range of disciplines and see how your academic knowledge can be applied to help deliver safe, sustainable solutions in support of national defence.
What you’ll get out of it
Our internships are about more than work experience – they’re an opportunity to immerse yourself in life at Babcock, form meaningful connections and develop skills that will set you up for your future career. You’ll work alongside supportive colleagues and gain guidance from experienced professionals every step of the way.
We value the fresh perspectives and innovative ideas that interns bring to our team. We believe you have the potential to shape the future of our business. But we also understand that this internship is as much about you assessing what’s right for you as it is about us getting to know you. Perform well, and you could be considered for a position on our graduate programme – your journey with Babcock could just be getting started.
What you’ll need
- You must be an undergraduate studying a BSc or BEng (Hons) degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Maths) subject.
