The role

As a Quantity Surveyor, you'll play a pivotal role in delivering major construction and infrastructure projects that support the UK's defence capabilities. Working within our Marine Engineering & Systems business, you'll provide commercial leadership across complex projects valued from £5 million to £100 million+, helping ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently and successfully. Day-to-day, you’ll be required to:

  • Managing the commercial and financial performance of construction and infrastructure projects throughout their lifecycle.
  • Administering NEC4 contracts, including compensation events, early warnings, change control and payment applications.
  • Preparing and maintaining project budgets, forecasts, cost reports and financial performance reviews.
  • Providing commercial advice and risk management support to project teams and key stakeholders.
  • Supporting procurement activities while building strong relationships with contractors, suppliers and client representatives.

This role is full time, 37 hours per week over 4.5 days, and is based at Rosyth. Hybrid working patterns are available. During your probation period you'll work full time onsite, after which you'll spend a minimum of three days per week onsite with the flexibility to work remotely for the remainder of your week.

Essential experience of the Quantity Surveyor:

  • Proven Quantity Surveying experience within a construction or infrastructure environment.
  • Experience managing project costs, budgets, forecasting and financial reporting across the project lifecycle.
  • Strong NEC contract administration experience, including compensation events, early warnings, change control and payment applications.
  • Experience managing commercial risk, contractor performance and stakeholder relationships.
  • Experience supporting medium to large-scale construction projects, ideally valued between £5 million and £100 million

Qualifications for the Quantity Surveyor:

  • Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management or a related discipline.
  • Membership of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) or actively working towards chartership.

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
