What will you do on the programme?

You’ll join Cavendish Nuclear, a core part of Babcock’s Nuclear Sector, as a Quality Delivery Graduate, contributing to the delivery of critical nuclear solutions across Clean Energy, Defence, and Civil Decommissioning.

From the outset, you’ll be involved in live customer projects, working closely with our supply chain to tackle complex challenges. You’ll learn directly from experienced quality professionals, gaining insight into how we deliver safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards.

Collaboration will be at the heart of your experience. You’ll spend time with colleagues in Engineering, Project Management and Procurement and Supply Chain, discovering how these functions work together to make sure quality requirements are met. Alongside this, you’ll also contribute to our wider quality strategy, helping to shape improvement initiatives and gaining insight into how standards and expectations are set across the business.

This is an opportunity to work on meaningful projects, gain experience across multiple areas of delivery and develop the competencies that will set you up for a long-term career in quality.

How is the programme structured?

The Quality Delivery Graduate Programme runs for two years and follows a structured pathway designed to develop your expertise in quality assurance and delivery. You’ll rotate through different areas of the business, gaining a comprehensive understanding of how quality underpins successful delivery in the nuclear sector.

Each placement is carefully designed to build your technical knowledge, broaden your perspective, and strengthen your professional network – setting you up for success in your future role.

How do we develop and support you?

From day one, you’ll receive structured support, personalised training, and dedicated mentorship to help you excel throughout your programme and beyond.

You’ll join our Graduate Development Programme, featuring expert-led masterclasses on communication, personal branding, resilience, and wellbeing.

Alongside your placements, you’ll follow a structured pathway of quality-focused training designed to build your understanding of nuclear safety, regulatory requirements, ISO 9001 standards, and customer quality planning processes.

To deepen your expertise, you’ll complete external training courses, including Internal Auditor and cause analysis modules. You’ll also become an Affiliate member of the Chartered Quality Institute (CQI), working towards Practitioner level during the programme – setting you on a clear path to Chartered status.

What rewards and benefits will you get?

We want you to feel supported, valued and excited about what’s ahead. That’s why we offer a comprehensive package designed to support your development, your wellbeing and your life outside of work too.

In addition to a minimum starting salary of £35,000, you’ll benefit from:

  • A minimum of 25 days of holiday plus bank holidays, with agile working options subject to discussion with your manager
  • Generous pension and employee share schemes
  • Flexible benefits, including cycle to work scheme, discounts
  • Wellbeing support, covering mental, physical, financial, and social wellbeing, with services like our Employee Assistance Programme, digital GP service, and health checks.

You’ll also have the chance to get involved in our STEM outreach activities and volunteering opportunities.

What do you need to apply?

  • An undergraduate or postgraduate degree in Quality, any Engineering discipline, Project Management, Manufacturing, or Procurement and Supply Chain.
  • Many of our graduate programmes are subject to Security Clearance and Trade Control restrictions which mean that your place of birth, nationality, citizenship, or residency you hold or have held may impact which programmes you are eligible for. For this programme, you must be able to achieve Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) and Security Check (SC) clearance. Further details are available at United Kingdom Security Vetting: clearance levels - GOV.UK.

Where will you be based?

Places on our Quality Delivery programme for Autumn 2026 are available at Cavendish Nuclear in either Bristol or Warrington. We ask our graduates to be flexible as there is the potential to undertake placements in other locations during their programme.
