Plan, challenge and shape the delivery of complex defence programmes

As a Project Planner, you will be responsible for developing, maintaining and driving integrated project schedules that enable on‑time and cost‑effective delivery across a portfolio of technically complex projects. Working closely with Project Managers and wider programme teams, you will provide planning insight, challenge assumptions and help strengthen delivery performance through robust schedule management and Earned Value techniques.
Day-to-day, you’ll be:
- Developing, owning and maintaining integrated project schedules, including baselines, scenario planning and performance measurement.
- Applying Earned Value and schedule performance techniques to provide insight, challenge delivery assumptions and support informed decision‑making.
- Working closely with Project Managers, Control Account Managers, engineers and customers to ensure schedules accurately reflect scope, progress and risk.
- Supporting effective project governance through accurate reporting, change control and schedule assurance.
- Contributing to the continuous improvement of planning practices across the Mission Systems portfolio.
This is a full‑time, hybrid role, with flexible working arrangements and up to two days per week onsite in Bristol.
Essential experience of the Project Planner:
- Proven experience working as a Project Planner or in a similar planning or project controls role within a complex project environment.
- Experience with Primavera P6
- Strong experience creating and managing integrated project schedules and baselines.
- Practical experience of Earned Value Management and performance reporting.
