The role

As a Project Manager - Nuclear, you’ll take a leadership role within our Naval Nuclear business, responsible for delivering complex, safety‑critical engineering projects that support the UK’s submarine fleet. You’ll build, lead and develop integrated project delivery teams, bringing people together across disciplines to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time and to the highest standards.

Day-to-day, you’ll Act as key interface between Babcock, our customers and delivery partners, you’ll shape project direction, manage risk and provide confident leadership in a highly regulated environment.

  • Leading and managing integrated project teams to deliver nuclear engineering projects successfully.
  • Planning, monitoring and controlling project scope, schedule, cost, risk and change.
  • Owning customer and stakeholder relationships, acting as the primary point of contact.
  • Managing resources, finances and subcontractors to achieve project objectives.
  • Providing clear leadership, coaching and escalation support to ensure team performance and delivery assurance.

This role is full time, 35 hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements with a minimum of 4 days in the office/onsite.

Essential experience of the Project Manager - Nuclear

  • Demonstrable experience delivering complex engineering or infrastructure projects within regulated environments.
  • Strong capability across core project management disciplines, including planning, risk, cost and change control.
  • Proven experience leading multi‑disciplinary teams within a matrix organisation.
  • Effective stakeholder management skills, including engagement with customers and senior leaders.
  • Ability to coach, motivate and develop teams to achieve high performance.

Qualifications for the Project Manager - Nuclear

  • Degree‑level qualification.
  • Commercial or Financial Management Qualification.
  • APM Project Management Qualification.
  • APM Chartered Project Professional status.
  • APM Project Risk Management qualification.

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
