The role

As a Project Manager, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. You’ll be at the heart of delivering complex, high-impact submarine maintenance projects that support the Royal Navy and national defence. This is your opportunity to lead multi-disciplinary teams, drive innovation, and make a real difference in a role that offers both challenge and reward.

Day-to-day, you’ll be:

  • Leading the planning, monitoring and delivery of in-service submarine maintenance projects from initiation to completion
  • Managing resources, budgets, risks and change using formal project management tools and processes
  • Building and leading integrated delivery teams to ensure successful project outcomes
  • Ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope and budget
  • Managing key customer and stakeholder relationships to ensure alignment and satisfaction

This role is full time, 36 hours per week Monday to Thursday, and is based on site at HMNB Clyde Faslane.

Essential experience of the Project Manager

  • Proven experience managing multiple complex projects through the full lifecycle
  • Strong background in change and risk management
  • Skilled in process improvement and project reporting
  • Proficient in using business applications and project management tools
  • Experience within the defence industry or other highly regulated environments

Qualifications for the Project Manager

  • HNC or higher in a relevant discipline
  • Project management knowledge and experience in a regulated environment
  • Ideally holds or is working towards a professional qualification such as APM PMQ or PRINCE2

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
