The role

As a Project Manager, you’ll take ownership of complex, high-impact engineering projects within the Dreadnought programme one of the largest and most ambitious programmes at Babcock. You’ll lead the delivery of critical systems, ensuring performance across safety, quality, cost and schedule while managing relationships with key stakeholders and suppliers.

Day-to-day, you’ll be required to:

  • Leading the delivery of complex engineering and design projects from concept through to delivery
  • Managing stakeholder relationships including customers, suppliers and internal teams
  • Overseeing project controls including risk, cost, schedule and quality performance
  • Driving the performance of project teams, including mentoring Assistant Project Managers and engineers
  • Ensuring governance, reporting and assurance requirements are met across the programme

This role is full time, 37 hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements with 2 days onsite and 3 days working from home.

Essential experience of the Project Manager

  • Demonstrating experience delivering complex technical or engineering projects
  • Managing project scope, risk, cost, schedule and resources to achieve objectives
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Using project planning tools such as Primavera P6 or equivalent
  • Managing third-party suppliers and ensuring successful project outcomes

Qualifications for the Project Manager

  • PMQ or PPQ (desirable) or equivalent.

Security Clearance

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) / Developed Vetting (DV) security clearance for this role. Sole UK can start on Standard (BPSS).
