The role
As a Project Manager, you’ll play a pivotal role in delivering a high-value, long-term defence infrastructure programme that is critical to national security. You’ll lead projects across the full lifecycle, working alongside industry-leading experts and collaborating with joint venture partners and key stakeholders.
This role is based in Glasgow, working 37 hours per week. Travel to other Cavendish Nuclear and customer sites will be expected.
Day-to-day, you’ll be required to:
- Leading the delivery of projects across the full lifecycle, ensuring scope, cost, schedule, and quality targets are met
- Managing and mentoring an Assistant Project Manager while supporting wider team development
- Collaborating with joint venture partners, suppliers, and client stakeholders to drive project success
- Monitoring project performance and reporting progress to senior leadership, including a Senior Project Manager
- Identifying and managing risks, opportunities, and change in a complex engineering environment
Essential experience of the Project Manager:
- Demonstrating proven experience managing projects across the full lifecycle
- Applying project management principles within civil infrastructure or complex engineering environments
- Working within regulated industries such as defence or nuclear (advantageous)
- Managing stakeholders across multiple organisations and disciplines
- Leading or supporting teams in a project delivery environment
Qualifications for the Project Manager:
- Degree in Engineering, Project Management, or a related discipline (or equivalent experience)
- Project management qualification aligned to Association of Project Management or similar (desirable)
- Knowledge of NEC contracts (advantageous)
