The role
As Programme Lead for the Land Integrated Operating Service (LIOS), you’ll take a pivotal role in one of the UK’s most strategic defence programmes. LIOS is a transformational initiative designed to reshape how the British Army receives equipment support—delivering smarter, faster, and more integrated solutions through industrial collaboration.

This is a senior leadership opportunity where you’ll drive Babcock’s strategic growth, influence national defence strategy, and lead the development of competitive, executable solutions. Your work will directly impact operational readiness and national security, while offering you a career path filled with purpose, innovation, and influence.

Day-to-day you’ll be:
• Leading the development and execution of the LIOS strategy, aligned with the Land Industrial Strategy.
• Building senior relationships with MOD, British Army, OEMs, and industrial partners.
• Driving opportunity qualification, solution design, and contract conversion.
• Coordinating cross-functional teams to deliver competitive, executable solutions.
• Managing internal governance, win boards, and programme reviews.

The role is based onsite at Andover, and the set working times are Monday to Friday, totalling 37.5 hours per week. Frequent travel to Bristol, London, and other UK sites will be expected.

Essential experience of the Programme Lead – Land Integrated Operating Service:
• Proven leadership of large, commercial, multi-disciplinary teams in operational environments (£bn+ value).
• Successful strategy development and business winning within the Defence sector.
• Deep understanding of the Authority environment and UK Land Defence sector.
• Strong customer relationship management across multi-stakeholder environments.
• Experience building strategic industrial partnerships at senior levels.

Qualifications for the Programme Lead – Land Integrated Operating Service:
• Educated to degree level, ideally in business, marketing, or a related field.
• Equivalent relevant experience will also be considered.
