As a Production Hub Manager, you’ll play a pivotal role in supporting one of the UK's most important submarine programmes by bringing welding resource together into a centralised, high-performing team. This is an exciting opportunity to establish and shape a new operational model, lead a skilled workforce, and drive meaningful improvements in productivity, quality, and performance.
Day-to-day, you’ll provide visible leadership across production operations, ensuring the right resources are deployed at the right time to support critical defence programmes. Working closely with production teams, project stakeholders, and capability leaders, you'll influence strategic decision-making while helping to develop and grow the workforce of the future. - Leading and managing the daily operations of the welding hub to ensure resources are effectively deployed across submarine projects.
- Chairing planning and look-ahead meetings with stakeholders to establish priorities and ensure delivery against schedules.
- Driving productivity improvements, identifying cost-saving opportunities, and implementing process enhancements.
- Collaborating with Production Capability Managers to maintain workforce competence, skills development, and succession planning.
- Providing visible leadership across operations, ensuring safety, quality, and performance standards are consistently achieved.
This role is full time, 35 hours per week and is based on site at Devonport Royal Dockyard.
Essential experience of the Production Hub Manager
- Experience leading and managing operational teams within a manufacturing, engineering, production, defence, marine, nuclear, or industrial environment.
- Proven ability to coordinate resources and priorities across multiple stakeholders and projects.
- Experience driving performance improvement, productivity, and operational efficiency initiatives.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to develop, motivate, and support teams with varying levels of experience.
- Experience working within safety and quality-focused environments.
Qualifications for the Production Hub Manager
Essential:
- Higher National Certificate (HNC) in an engineering, manufacturing, production, or related discipline, or equivalent relevant experience.
Desirable:
- Nuclear Plant Foundation Course Module 1.
- Additional leadership, operational management, or engineering qualifications.

The successful candidate must be a sole UK National who is able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
