Shape the future of critical engineering projects through strategic procurement excellence

At Babcock, we’re working to create a safe and secure world, together. If you join us, you can play your part as a Procurement Manager at Rosyth, near Dunfermline, Fife.

The role

As a Procurement Manager, you’ll lead a high-performing supply chain team that underpins some of the UK’s most significant engineering, marine and defence programmes. This is a role where your strategic thinking, leadership and commercial insight will help deliver complex projects that support national security, major infrastructure and front-line capability. You’ll influence how we source, negotiate and deliver critical products and services—making a genuine impact on the wider organisation, our customers and society.

You’ll also play a key role in shaping the future of our procurement function, developing the capability, processes and best practices needed to support evolving and demanding engineering programmes. It’s an ideal opportunity to grow as a leader while contributing to dynamic, purpose-driven work.

Day-to-day, you’ll have the following responsibilities:

  • Lead and develop the supply chain team, ensuring the right resources, skills and performance levels are in place to support project, site and facilities management needs.
  • Capture and translate project requirements into sourcing strategies that maximise supply chain performance while minimising risk and complexity.
  • Manage and influence internal stakeholders, ensuring timely provision of key information to support robust subcontract development and delivery.
  • Lead sourcing and tendering processes, delivering competitive and commercially sound contract solutions.
  • Oversee supplier due diligence and onboarding, ensuring selected partners are compliant, capable and ready to trade.

This is a full-time role, working 37 hours per week, based at Rosyth. Hybrid working patterns are available, with three days on-site each week.

Essential experience of the Procurement Manager:

  • Experienced procurement practitioner with a strong understanding of strategic procurement techniques
  • Background working in complex engineering or project environments
  • Experience in capital expenditure equipment procurement and facilities management
  • Proven ability to deliver strong supply chain performance and effective commercial outcomes.

Qualifications for the Procurement Manager:

  • Degree level qualification or equivalent professional experience in engineering, manufacturing, commercial or related disciplines.
  • MCIPS qualified or working towards MCIPS, or an equivalent professional certification.
  • Knowledge of NEC3 contracting terms.

The successful candidate must be a sole UK National who is able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) clearance for this role.
