The role

As a Personal Assistant, you’ll be a key member of the Executive Suite team, providing high‑quality, trusted support to senior leaders on the Devonport Royal Dockyard Limited site. This is far more than a traditional administrative role.

You’ll work in a fast paced, confidential environment, helping Directors operate effectively and enabling sound decision making at the highest level.

Day-to-day, you’ll manage complex priorities, build strong relationships across the business, and act as a professional interface with internal and external stakeholders. It’s a challenging, rewarding opportunity that will sharpen your organisational, communication and leadership skills, while opening doors to long‑term career development within a global engineering organisation.

  • Managing diaries and inboxes, ensuring Directors’ time is planned effectively
  • Organising travel and expenses, including UK and international arrangements
  • Supporting meetings and events, coordinating conferences, away days and VIP visits
  • Preparing documentation, presentations, reports and briefing packs, including minute‑taking
  • Liaising confidently with senior stakeholders across the business and externally

This role is full time, 35 hours per week and is based on site at Devonport Royal Dockyard.

Essential experience of the Director Personal Assistant

  • Proven experience providing senior‑level PA or executive administrative support
  • Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities
  • Experience of complex diary management and stakeholder coordination
  • Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications

Qualifications for the Director Personal Assistant

  • GCSE English, Maths at Grade C (4/5) or Above – Certificates must be submitted as part of the application.
  • NVQ Level 2 in Business Administration, or equivalent qualification (preferred)

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
