The role

As an Operations Clerk, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. You will be providing essential operational support to the flying task and playing a critical part in the success of the LAFT2 Contract. From preparing flight briefings and coordinating key information to ensuring compliance and accuracy in all operational processes.

Day-to-day, you’ll have the following responsibilities:

  • Report directly to the Site Operations Manager, ensuring seamless operational support for all flying tasks.
  • Prepare comprehensive briefing materials for upcoming flight operations, maintaining accuracy and clarity.
  • Coordinate and display key operational data, including aircraft allocation, NOTAMs (MOD broadcasting system), meteorological updates, and Royal Flight information for the daily flying programme.
  • Maintain and update essential publications, maps, charts, and documents to the correct amendment state, ensuring they are readily available in the Operations Room.
  • Compile and analyse statistical data, demonstrating proficiency in flying operations systems and associated databases.
  • Provide administrative support in post-crash management procedures, assisting the Duty Authoriser with critical tasks.

This role is full time working 40 hours per week and is based on site at Glasgow International Airport.

Essential experience of the Operations Clerk:

  • Demonstrated experience in administrative responsibilities, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency in all tasks.
  • Proven track record in delivering exceptional customer service and stakeholder engagement, fostering strong relationships and effective communication.
  • Background in supporting military or civilian flying operations, providing operational and administrative support in high-pressure, safety-critical environments.

Qualifications for the Operations Clerk:

  • Excellent proficiency in Mathematics and English, ensuring accuracy and clarity in all written and numerical tasks.
  • Advanced IT skills, including strong competency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and related applications).
  • Full, clean driving licence, enabling flexibility and mobility for operational requirements.

Security Clearance

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain DBS and Counter Terrorist Check (CTC) security clearance for this role.
