This is a brilliant opportunity to work as part of the MEH Alliance on the prestigious Hinkley Point C Nuclear project. The alliance work across the project to integrate and coordinate the delivery of all main Mechanical, Electrical, Heating, Ventilation and Air-Conditioning (MEH), cabling and associated support services. This innovative approach will help different contractors work as a single entity to deliver the complex installation of cabling and pipework in the power station’s vast network of rooms.
The role
As a Non-Destructive Testing Coordinator, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. Being part of the MEH Alliance working on Hinkley Point C is a chance to be involved in a major project with national significance. You’ll be at the heart of one of the UK’s most significant nuclear projects. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to the integrity and safety of a major infrastructure programme, while developing your expertise across multiple engineering disciplines.
Day-to-day, you’ll
- Coordinate non-destructive testing (NDT) activities with contractors and ensure compliance with approved procedures.
- Review NDT reports and radiographs to verify adherence to standards and specifications.
- Verify technician certifications, equipment calibration, and environmental conditions for testing.
- Witness NDT procedures and prepare daily surveillance reports.
- Maintain accurate records of NDT activities using SONIMS.
This is a full-time, permanent position, 37 hours per week, based on site at Hinkley Point C near Bridgwater, Somerset.
Essential experience of the Non-Destructive Testing Coordinator:
- Proven experience of NDT, ideally including Phased Array Qualification.
- Experience working on major engineering projects.
- Nuclear industry experience is beneficial.
Qualifications for the Non-Destructive Testing Coordinator:
- PCN Level III in Radiographic Testing and Phased Array.
- Level II in Ultrasonic Testing, Penetrant Testing and Magnetic Particle Testing.
- CSWIP or PCN film interpretation across all metal types.
Security Clearance
