The Role
As an MSO Supervisor – Lifting Operations, you’ll be at the heart of our mission-critical lifting operations, ensuring safety, precision, and compliance across our waterfront and Shiplift sections. This is a hands-off leadership role where your expertise will guide teams, shape processes, and uphold the highest standards in line with LOLER regulations.
You’ll be part of our Naval Nuclear Clyde business unit, supporting defence operations that protect communities and contribute to national security. This is more than a job—it’s a career that makes a difference.
Day-to-day, you’ll have the following responsibilities:
- Supervising safe lifting operations and ensuring compliance with lifting plans and risk assessments.
- Maintaining workflow and setting the operational pace for MSO teams.
- Supporting Appointed Persons in achieving lifting KPIs across all areas.
- Mentoring selected lifting team members to build capability and confidence.
- Conducting equipment inspections and contributing to RAMS and lift planning.
You'll be based onsite at Clyde, working 36 hours per week, Monday to Friday. Set working times are standard daytime hours.
Essential experience of the MSO Supervisor – Lifting Operations:
- Strong working knowledge of LOLER regulations.
- Proven understanding of health and safety in lifting environments.
Qualifications for the MSO Supervisor – Lifting Operations:
- Valid UK Driving Licence.
- Supervisor Lift Card (Level 3).
- CPCS or NPORS Slinger/Signaller certification.

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) clearance for this role.
